The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the appointment of Dr. Umar Majigi as the substantive Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of the party.
Statement to this effect signed by Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, said the appointment recognized Dr. Majigi’s proven expertise, professionalism, and commitment to the development and continuous upgrading of the Party’s ICT architecture.
Dr. Majigi holds a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity Science, in addition to other academic and professional qualifications in web design, programming, and data processing.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Assistant Director of ICT at the Party’s National Secretariat and was later elevated to Acting Director of ICT, where he provided both strategic leadership and operational support.
As Acting Director, Dr. Majigi was instrumental to the development and strengthening of APC’s ICT infrastructure, overseeing data management systems and deploying digital technologies that enhanced Party operations nationwide. Most recently, he played a strategic role in the implementation of the party’s membership e-registration system, significantly improving the credibility, efficiency, and accessibility of the APC membership database.
His appointment as Director of ICT underscores the party’s commitment to merit-based practices, institutional continuity, and the strengthening of internal capacity through the elevation of experienced and competent personnel.
