The Delta State Government’s dialysis subsidy programme is already making a significant impact, with patients at Asaba Specialist Hospital now paying ₦38,000 per session—down from the previous ₦70,000 and even lower than the earlier subsidized rate of ₦45,000.
Within just over five months, the hospital has carried out more than 200 dialysis sessions, offering vital support to residents battling chronic kidney disease.
The hospital’s Chief Medical Director, CMD, Dr. Peace Ighosewe, revealed this while outlining how the government’s intervention had improved patient access to treatment.
She said the initiative was a part of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s broader efforts to make life-saving healthcare more affordable and accessible for people across Delta State.
