The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, July 17, upheld INEC’s recognition of the PDP leadership led by Muhammad Abdulrahman as National Chairman and Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu as National Secretary.
Justice Salim Ibrahim ruled that the suit challenging INEC’s recognition was not properly authorized, stating that the PDP National Legal Adviser did not approve the case. The court also upheld INEC’s preliminary objection.
The applications of Muhammad Abdulrahman, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, George Turnah, and Abraham Amah to join the case were granted.
With this judgment, INEC’s recognition of the current PDP leadership remains valid as the party continues preparations for the 2027 general elections.
