Former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has described the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari as “a mess,” saying he foresaw its shortcomings before it took office.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Oritsejafor said he warned Nigerians in 2014 about the direction the country was heading as Buhari prepared to assume office.
He also said Nigeria’s situation had deteriorated further under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
“I tried to warn this nation in 2014 when the Buhari government was getting ready to come in. I knew it was going to be a mess. From there, I don’t know what to call where we are now; it has grown worse,” he said.
The former President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) said he could no longer remain silent because of the hardship Nigerians are facing.
Oritsejafor stressed the need for leaders to be held accountable, noting that, as a pastor, he interacts daily with people who bear the brunt of the country’s economic and social challenges.
