The Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed “deep sorrow” over the news of the passing of Chief Albert K. Horsfall, a former Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS) and a distinguished son of Rivers State.
In a condolence message personally signed by him, Governor Fubara described Chief Horsfall as a patriot, a disciplinarian, and an embodiment of quiet strength and intelligence.
“As DG SSS, he served Nigeria with utmost dedication, professionalism, and integrity. His contributions to national security and stability remain a benchmark for those who came after him,” he said.
According to the Governor, Horsfall was an elder statesman, a mentor to many, and a proud ambassador of the values of service, honor, and excellence. He said with the passage of Horsfall, Rivers State has lost a patriot, a bridge-builder, and a man of integrity.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Rivers State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Horsfall family of Buguma, the security community, and all Nigerians who mourn this great loss.
“We pray that the Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest and grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May his legacy of service and patriotism continue to inspire us,’ Fubara said.
