Former Director-General of Atiku Youth Wing and now Director-General of The Bridge For Renewed Hope; Hon. Rowland Odih has on Wednesday commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for approving a ₦100 million business recapitalization grant to support 2,000 women petty traders in Jigawa State.
Hon. Rowland in a media statement signed by the media office of The Bridge for Renewed Hope, described the intervention as another clear demonstration of the President Tinubu administration’s unwavering commitment to empowering women, strengthening small and medium-scale enterprises, and promoting inclusive economic growth across the country.
According to him, the grant as given to each beneficiary will provide much-needed support to thousands of hardworking women across the North, enabling them to expand their businesses, improve household incomes, and contribute more meaningfully to local economic development.
He noted that the First Lady’s emphasis on small and medium-scale businesses as the foundation for sustainable national development aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes economic inclusion, poverty reduction, and grassroots empowerment.
Hon. Rowland also applauded the First Lady’s activities during her visit to Jigawa State, including the launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme for the North-West zone and the inauguration of landmark projects such as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy and the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic. He said these initiatives demonstrate the administration’s holistic approach to improving the welfare of Nigerians through investments in education, healthcare, food security, and entrepreneurship.
Hon. Rowland called on Nigerian women across the North and the South to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support his re-election bid in 2027. He stated that women remain the backbone of families, communities, and the nation’s economy, adding that the President Tinubu administration has consistently demonstrated its commitment to women empowerment through practical interventions and inclusive policies.
He called on Nigerian women across the North and South of Nigeria to continue partnering with the Renewed Hope Agenda by supporting the President’s vision for a more prosperous, secure, and economically vibrant Nigeria.
“I am confident that the continued support of Nigerian women across North and South of Nigeria, for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration will translate into greater opportunities and improved livelihoods for millions of Nigerian families,” Hon.
