Former Director-General of Atiku Youth Wing and currently the Director General of The Bridge for Renewed Hope, Hon. Rowland Odih, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Senate for the passage of the State Police Bill, describing it as a bold and historic step towards strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday evening and signed by the Media Office of The Bridge for Renewed Hope, Hon. Rowland Odih stated that the passage of the State Police bill demonstrates President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to tackling terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other security challenges confronting the nation.
According to him, the State Police initiative will bring law enforcement closer to the people, enhance intelligence gathering at the grassroots level, and improve the capacity of security agencies to respond swiftly to emerging threats across the country.
“President Tinubu has once again shown courageous leadership by supporting reforms that will help secure lives and property. The passage of the State Police Bill is clear evidence that this administration is determined to defeat terrorism and restore lasting peace across Nigeria,” Rowland said.
He further praised members of the National Assembly for placing national interest above partisan considerations in supporting the bill, noting that security remains the foundation upon which economic growth and national development can thrive.
Rowland also called on the international community, particularly the United States and President Donald Trump, to support President Tinubu’s ongoing reforms and security initiatives in Nigeria.
He noted that global cooperation is essential in the fight against terrorism and transnational criminal activities, stressing that Nigeria’s stability is crucial to the peace and prosperity of the African continent.
“The international community should recognize the significance of these reforms and partner with Nigeria in its efforts to combat terrorism, strengthen democratic institutions, and create opportunities for economic growth,” he added.
Rowland expressed confidence that the State Police Bill, when fully implemented, would mark a turning point in Nigeria’s security management and further advance the objectives of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
