The highest moral voices in the land have spoken, and the message is chilling. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) has officially declared what millions of Nigerians are feeling every single day: We are sitting on a time bomb.
In their latest communiqué, the Bishops didn’t mince words about the state of our nation under the Tinubu administration.
They’ve laid out the brutal reality:
Worsening Insecurity: From rampant kidnapping and banditry to the violent targeting of our schools and places of worship, millions of our brothers and sisters have been displaced.
Crushing Economic Hardship: Hunger is no longer just a challenge; it’s a national crisis that threatens to push the populace to the breaking point.
Systemic Failure: The Bishops are warning that the combination of persistent hunger and unchecked corruption is a recipe for massive civil unrest.
The Presidency’s response? They’re living in a different reality, claiming their “reforms” are working. But while they talk about “direction,” the people are struggling to survive.
