Indigenes of Umunede, one of the .largest communities in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, have commended the Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Chiedu Ebie Esq, for attracting to them, a 10,000- Gallon water project from the Commission.
The people expressed joy that with the completion of the project, their age-long desire to enjoy stable portable water had been realised.
One of the indigenes, , Mekwuye Augustine, Coordinator, Delta Unity Group (DUG), Umunede Chapter, described Ebie as a special breed of politician and public office holder who had equitably distributed democracy dividends to all communities in the Ika nation.
“We are elated that Chiedu Ebie who is from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State is doing this for us, this is unprecedented. Ebie is not from Ika North-East Local Government Area, but equitably distributed democracy dividend among the two local Government Areas that made up the Ika Federal Constituency and other adjoining Local Government Areas’’, another of the indigenes, Valentine Okafor, said.
In a similar vein, other indigenes of the community who spoke extolled Ebie’s leadership excellence and love for Ika nation, noting that Ika nation had never had it this good.
“Chiedu Ebie is God- sent. His exemplary leadership, heroic achievements and love for his people have made politics attractive in Ika nation’’ they added.
While thanking Mr. Ebie for his practical demonstration of people focused leadership, unwavering commitment to infrastructural development and human capital development in the region, the people called on other public office holders from Ika Federal constituency to emulate the NDDC Chairman impactful leadership style, particularly his equitable distribution of infrastructures without discrimination.
