The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @OfficialPDPNig hereby issues this definitive warning to the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led group of imposters to immediately, vacate the Wadata Plaza National Secretariat of the PDP or get ready to be evicted with legitimate force.
This warning follows the unambiguous judgment delivered by Justice Uchechukwu, JCA, of the Court of Appeal in APPEAL NO. CA/IB/M.90/2026. This judicial pronouncement has effectively stripped the recalcitrant elements of any legally recognizable authority, exposing their continued occupation of the party’s office as a brazen act of lawlessness, trespass, and political imposture.
For public elucidation and avoidance of doubt, we make the following clarifications;
The Judicial Reality vs. The Impostors’ Deception
The Court of Appeal, in resolving a Notice of Objection to the appearance of Dapo Durosaro, Esq. for the PDP and Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum (National Chairman), thoroughly ventilated the constitutional mechanics of our party. The core question before the Court was whether A.K. Ajibade, SAN, remained the National Legal Adviser with the power to donate legal authority to external actors.
The Court of Appeal soundly resolved the matter, establishing the following undeniable legal facts:
Loss of Constitutional Powers:
The Court affirmed that upon the suspension of A.K. Ajibade, SAN, on November 1, 2025, he completely lost all authority conferred on him by the PDP Constitution. The Court explicitly ruled that “any exercise of the power conferred on a party official by the party’s constitution, while a suspension subsists, is an exercise in futility.”
Legitimacy of the NWC’s Actions:
The Court validated the decision of the 608th National Working Committee (NWC), which legally directed the National Directorate of Legal Services to take over the functions of the office and subsequently brief Dapo Durosaro, Esq. to represent the Party and the National Chairman.
Expiration of Tenure:
The Court noted that even though Ajibade’s suspension elapsed after one month, his tenure of office completely expired in December 2025. Dismissing the baseline fabrications of re-election, the Court refused to “embark on a voyage of speculation,” declaring that Ajibade could not have issued any valid letter of instruction to anyone, including J.A. Mumini, SAN, or B.R. Gold, SAN.
From the records before the Court of Appeal, the so-called National Convention of March 29, 2026, by a group of individuals masquerading as the PDP, was a nullity as the court did not recognize the gathering. The Court was definitive in declaring that:
“…While I agree that the suspension of A.K. Ajibade, SAN, elapsed after one month from November 1, 2025, his tenure of office nevertheless expired in December 2025. Either way, A.K. Ajibade, SAN, could not have issued a valid letter of instruction thereafter, unless there was an intervening circumstance. The Objector, in Paragraph 6(h) of the Further Affidavit, deposed that A.K. Ajibade, SAN, was re-elected, without stating when, where, and by whom he was re-elected as the National Legal Adviser of the 2nd Respondent.”
The Supreme Court Fallacy Debunked:
Crucially, the Court of Appeal clarified that the Supreme Court judgment in SC/CV/166/2026 did not nullify the NWC’s November 2025 resolutions. The Court ruled that the nullification of the Party’s Convention did not equate to the affirmation of A.K. Ajibade’s expired authority.
Our Position:
Wadata Plaza is Not a Den for Squatters. By virtue of this judgment, the legal architecture supporting the elements currently claiming leadership roles through expired or unverified tenures has totally collapsed.
Abdulrahman Mohammed and his cohorts are operating completely outside the ambit of the PDP Constitution and the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The CP-PDP will no longer fold its arms and watch political interlopers hold the national secretariat of our great party hostage. The Court of Appeal has spoken. The NWC’s directives stand, the legal representations stand, and the era of using expired mandates to subvert the PDP is officially over.
We therefore call on the Inspector General of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and all relevant law enforcement agencies to immediately step in, enforce the spirit of this judicial reality, and clear Wadata Plaza of these illegal occupants who pose a threat to public peace and political stability.
Signed:
Barr Obinna Nwachukwu
National Coordinator, CP-PDP.
