….calls on Peter Obi to join President Tinubu’s national Government of unity
Leading President Tinubu support group, The Bridge for Renewed Hope has criticised Labour Party 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi over his call for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign.
The group described the demand by Peter Obi as “misguided and lacking an appreciation of the complexities of governing a diverse nation like Nigeria.”
According to Hon. Rowland Odih, Atiku/Obi 2019 campaign aide and currently the Director-General of The Bridge for Renewed Hope, Peter Obi’s comments reflect his “limited understanding of federal governance”. Hon. Rowland further argued that “leadership at the national level is broad in perspective than governing a single State, which in any case, Peter Obi failed when he was Governor of Anambra State.”
Hon. Rowland via a Tuesday statement by the media office of The Bridge for Renewed Hope stated that Nigerians should remain focused on supporting the ongoing reforms of the Tinubu administration rather than being distracted by political rhetoric.
“Calling on President Tinubu to resign is neither constructive nor patriotic. It is a reflection of a poor understanding of the enormous responsibilities that come with leading a country as complex as Nigeria. Having failed to leave a convincing legacy as a Governor, Peter Obi should not pretend to have all the answers to the nation’s challenges,” Hon. Rowland said.
He urged Peter Obi to put national interest above partisan politics by embracing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and supporting efforts to build a united and prosperous Nigeria which President Tinubu is currently doing as President.
“I invite Peter Obi to join President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda so that together we can build a Government of National Unity dedicated to national development, economic growth, security, and the welfare of all Nigerians. This is the time for collaboration, not divisive politics.”
Hon. Rowland further called on Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious divides to support President Tinubu’s administration and work collectively towards the country’s progress.
He expressed confidence that President Tinubu will continue to earn the confidence of Nigerians through his policies and reforms and urged citizens to support his re-election bid in 2027 through the democratic process.
