The legal battle over the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Takum/Donga/Ussa/Yangtu Federal Constituency of Taraba State has begun, with Hon. Audu Israel Tseaga asking a Federal High Court in Abuja to nullify the party’s primary election over alleged irregularities.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the APC, and Rt. Hon. Mark Bako Useni have been named as defendants in the suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1128/2026.
At the proceedings, Justice Inyang Ekwo adjourned the matter for the hearing of the Motion on Notice and granted leave for the originating processes to be served on Rt. Hon. Mark Bako Useni.
Hon. Tseaga is challenging the outcome of the APC primary, arguing that the exercise was flawed and that he is entitled to the party’s ticket for the constituency.
The suit signals the beginning of a legal contest that could determine the APC’s candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election in the Takum/Donga/Ussa/Yangtu Federal Constituency, as the political battle shifts from the ballot to the courtroom.
