The death of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, a former Governor of the state, has been described as a huge loss to his family and the state.
The description was made by the Ika South State Legislature flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2027 polls, Hon. Cordilia Anyangwu, who also said the former governor left his mark on the sands of time.
Anyangwu, reacting to the demise of the former leader, said Uduaghan was a truly compassionate leader who did his best for the state and its people, as governor.
She recalled the landmark achievements of Dr. Uduaghan, under the aegis his three-point operational agenda of peace and security, human capital development and infrastructural development.
The APC Delta State House of Assembly DTHA flag bearer named the landmark successes of the fallen governor to include the free health care for expectant mothers and children under five years of age, the N5m prize for First Class graduates of the state origin, the sustained bursary for qualified Delta State tertiary school students, the construction and operationalisation of Asaba Airport, the payment of enrolment fees for Delta students sitting the secondary school certificate examinations conducted by the West African Examinations Council WAEC and the huge empowerment schemes, especially via the now defunct Delta Micro Credit Programme, DMCP.
Anyangwu also listed the flyover bridges at Effurun and Asaba as some of the other major success of the late leader.
She said that the former governor would be remembered for long for his huge contributions to the development of the state.
Describing the demise of the former governor as sad and unfortunate, the APC flag bearer, however, urged the family and Delta State government to take solace in the fact that he lived an exemplary life.
