…Says APC Candidate Has Experience, Capacity to Represent Ika South
The Delta Unity Group (DUG), Ika South Chapter, has declared its support for the candidature of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ika South Constituency in the 2027 Delta State House of Assembly election, Hon. Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu.
It described her as an experienced and reliable candidate capable of providing effective representation.
The Ika South Chairman of Delta Unity Group, Mr. Davison Okafor, made the declaration when Hon. Anyangwu paid a consultation visit to the group as part of her engagements with stakeholders and political groups across the constituency.
Mr Okafor said the group would continue to support political candidates who demonstrate genuine concern for the welfare and development of the people, stressing that leadership should be about service, responsibility and commitment to the electorate.
He described Mrs Anyangwu as a candidate with the experience and capacity required to represent Ika South in the State House of Assembly and assured her that members of DUG would support her political ambition.
The DUG chairman, however, urged Hon Anyangwu to sustain grassroots engagement by reaching out to the electorate across the constituency, irrespective of their social or political status, and clearly communicate her programmes, policies and vision for Ika South constitiency.
He added that Delta Unity Group would continue to provide the necessary support within its capacity towards her 2027 campaign.
Also speaking, Hon. Isaac Ulebor commended the emergence of Hon Mrs Anyangwu as the APC candidate, describing her as focused and experienced.
He expressed confidence that her representation could contribute to greater attention and development for Ika South.
Ulebor appealed to the people of Ika South to support Hon Anyangwu’s aspiration, while reaffirming the commitment of members of group to her campaign.
Responding, Hon. Anyangwu thanked the leadership and members of Delta Unity Group for what she described as their steadfast support and encouragement.
She appealed to the group to remain committed to the campaign and continue mobilising support at the grassroots.
Anyangwu described DUG as an important political force within the APC and called on its members to support all APC candidates in the 2027 elections, from the presidency to the State House of Assembly, with the objective of securing victory across the various elective positions.
The APC flag bearer declared her willingness to identify with Delta Unity Group, describing it as a platform with a positive vision for the people of Ika South.
The engagement ended with renewed calls for grassroots mobilisation, unity and sustained interaction between the candidate, political stakeholders and the electorate ahead of the 2027 elections.
