The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has opened applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme, offering eligible Nigerians the opportunity to pursue fully funded Master’s degree programmes in Ireland.
The scholarship programme targets early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana seeking to undertake a one-year Master’s degree at selected higher institutions across Ireland.
According to the embassy, applications will officially open on June 29, 2026, through the Ireland Fellows Programme portal, with interested candidates expected to complete and submit their applications before the deadline.
To qualify, applicants must be citizens and residents of Nigeria or Ghana, possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower honours, and have at least three years of relevant professional work experience.
The embassy disclosed that Nigerian applicants can also apply for the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which supports Master’s programmes in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
Successful candidates will benefit from a comprehensive scholarship package covering tuition fees, monthly living allowance, accommodation support, return airfare, visa expenses and health insurance.
Applications will close on July 26, 2026, and prospective candidates have been advised to apply early.
The Ireland Fellows Programme aims to strengthen professional capacity, promote academic excellence and deepen cooperation between Ireland and its partner countries through education and leadership development.
