The State Coordinator of Renewed Hope, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, today Monday, July 20, 2026, paid a working visit to the Ika South Chapter, where he officially commissioned the chapter’s secretariat amid a massive gathering of party faithful, traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, women, and supporters.
Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, a former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and currently Senior Policy Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, was accompanied by the Delta North Coordinator of Renewed Hope, Chief Patrick Ukah, a former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG) and former Commissioner for Information.
The delegation was warmly received by the Ika South Coordinator of Renewed Hope, Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, who is also the Executive Chairman of Ika South Local Government Area, alongside the Deputy Coordinator, Mr. Moses Ebede. Hon. Ehiwarior described the commissioning of the secretariat as another milestone in strengthening Renewed Hope in Ika South and appreciated members for their unwavering commitment and impressive turnout.
Addressing the gathering, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon commended the leadership of the Ika South Chapter for its unity, organization, and overwhelming attendance. He highlighted the achievements of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, noting that the Renewed Hope agenda is delivering reforms in infrastructure, economic development, security, youth empowerment, and other key sectors. He urged members to sustain grassroots mobilization and remain committed to the vision of the President.
Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon also spoke glowingly about the APC candidates in Delta State, expressing confidence in their capacity to deliver quality representation. He described Hon. Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu, the APC candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly, Ika South Constituency, as a committed grassroots leader with the experience and passion to effectively represent the people. He encouraged party faithful to give her maximum support at the polls.
Speaking in the same vein, the Delta North Coordinator of Renewed Hope, Chief Patrick Ukah, emphasized the importance of unity and collective responsibility among party members. He explained that voting five over five for all APC candidates would ensure synergy in governance and accelerate development across Delta State. He therefore called on the people to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Hon. Emmanuel Osazuwa, and Hon. Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu, stressing that the APC candidates possess the experience and capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy.
In his remarks, Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior also highlighted the achievements of President Tinubu and reaffirmed his commitment to mobilizing massive support for the APC. He called on Deltans to embrace the five over five agenda and work tirelessly to ensure victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Also addressing the gathering, Hon. Emmanuel Osazuwa, APC candidate for the House of Representatives, Ika Federal Constituency, assured the people of purposeful and effective representation. He pledged to champion legislation that would attract meaningful development, create opportunities for youths and women, and ensure that the interests of Ika Federal Constituency receive adequate attention at the National Assembly.
Similarly, Hon. Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu, APC candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly, Ika South Constituency, expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in her by the leadership and members of Renewed Hope. She assured the people that she would provide responsive, accessible, and quality representation, promising to pursue people oriented legislation and initiatives that would improve the welfare and development of Ika South.
The event attracted prominent personalities, including Chief Sir Peter Idion, the Adolor Dein of Agbor Kingdom; Hon. Sunny Ogwu, zChief isioma Okonta , clan leaders; representatives of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT); the APC Chairman in Ika South Local Government Area, Comrade Frank Izekor; party executives; women and youth groups; and hundreds of supporters from across the local government.
The successful commissioning of the Ika South Secretariat and the impressive turnout of members further demonstrated the growing strength and acceptance of Renewed Hope in Ika South. The gathering ended with a renewed commitment by members to intensify grassroots mobilization and deliver overwhelming victories for the All Progressives Congress and its candidates in the 2027 general elections.
