The Sheriff Tinubu Okowa Vanguard (STOV) has declared its readiness to mobilize massive grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming general elections, expressing confidence that the party will record sweeping victories across Delta State under its 5/5 campaign.
Leader of the group and President of the D’Peterson Foundation, Dr. Donald Peterson made the declaration during a press briefing with journalists and members of his media team, where he reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to intensive voter mobilization, political sensitization, and community engagement across Delta State.
According to Dr. Peterson, the Sheriff Tinubu Okowa Vanguard (STOV) was established as a strategic grassroots movement to educate, enlighten, and mobilize citizens on the programmes, policies, and achievements of the APC-led administrations at both the federal and state levels.
He said the group’s 5/5 agenda is aimed at securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; APC Delta North Senatorial Candidate, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa; and all other APC candidates for Houses of Representatives, as well as Houses of Assembly seats in the State.
Speaking on the economic situation in the country, Dr. Peterson said many Nigerians have yet to fully understand the objectives of the ongoing economic reforms being implemented by the administration of President Tinubu.
He maintained that one of the Vanguard’s major responsibilities is to bridge the information gap by explaining the purpose and expected long-term benefits of the reforms, noting that while the measures may currently be challenging, they are designed to stabilize the economy, attract investment, create employment opportunities, and lay the foundation for sustainable national development.
On developments in Delta State, the Vanguard leader said the organization would intensify efforts to showcase the achievements of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori under the M.O.R.E Agenda.
He listed infrastructure development, improvements in education, enhanced healthcare delivery, human capital development, and expanded social welfare programmes among the administration’s notable achievements, adding that residents deserve accurate information about ongoing government initiatives.
Dr. Peterson also commended Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, describing him as a seasoned administrator whose records as Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government, Senator, and former Governor of Delta State have distinguished him as a leader with the experience and capacity to provide effective representation for Delta North in the Senate.
On the Ika Federal Constituency, he expressed confidence in the candidature of Hon. Emmanuel Osazuwa, whom he described as a grassroots politician committed to quality representation and people-oriented leadership.
He also praised Hon. Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu for her dedication to public service, accessibility, and commitment to the welfare of her constituents, expressing optimism that she would provide effective representation for Ika South in the Delta State House of Assembly.
Reaffirming the group’s support for Hon. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola and Hon. Teddy Jackson Ngwokor, Dr. Peterson assured party faithful that the STOV would leave no community untouched in its mobilization efforts ahead of the elections.
He disclosed that the organization has already mapped out extensive grassroots activities, including voter education campaigns, ward meetings, community engagements, and political sensitization programmes designed to strengthen the APC’s electoral fortunes across Delta State.
Calling on party members, youths, women, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other stakeholders to close ranks in support of the APC, Dr. Peterson said unity and collective participation remain critical to achieving sustainable development and good governance.
“We are fully prepared, organized, and committed to delivering overwhelming victories for all APC candidates. The Sheriff Tinubu Okowa Vanguard will spare no effort in ensuring that our 5/5 vision becomes a reality through massive grassroots mobilization and sustained engagement with the people,” he said.
He expressed confidence that with the dedication of members and the expanding grassroots network of the Sheriff Tinubu Okowa Vanguard, the APC would secure convincing victories for its candidates across Delta State while consolidating the party’s political strength ahead of the elections.
