Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Barr. Chiedu Ebie, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is the right driver to take Nigeria to the right destination, noting that the President’s bold economic reforms and leadership courage are already repositioning the country for greatness.
Ebie made the declaration while speaking on the current state of the nation and the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to him, “Nigeria is big, and the country is like a vehicle that needs a good, experienced, bold and qualified driver. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is that driver. He has the capacity, the vision, the courage and the political will to take Nigeria to the right destination of economic stability, prosperity and inclusive development.”
The NDDC Chairman noted that within just over three years of the Tinubu administration, the country has witnessed decisive actions that previous administrations avoided for decades, including removal of the fuel subsidy racket that siphoned national wealth, unification of the foreign exchange market, and freeing up of huge resources to states and intervention agencies like the NDDC to deliver development at the grassroots.
“All the good things that are happening today in the Niger Delta and across Nigeria are possible because President Tinubu took the hard decisions others were afraid to take. That is the mark of a true leader. He believes in Nigeria’s future and he is unlocking resources for development,” Ebie stated.
Ebie, who has been leading a silent revolution at the NDDC with people-oriented projects, youth empowerment, Light-Up Niger Delta initiatives and massive infrastructure renewal across the nine states of the region, said the renewed financial support and freedom given to the Commission by President Tinubu has enabled NDDC to do more for the people than ever before.
He called on Nigerians, especially Anioma people and Deltans at home and in the diaspora, to continue supporting President Tinubu and to remain patient with the reform process, assuring that Nigeria is taking off and will soon reach cruising level where every citizen will enjoy the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“President Tinubu is repositioning Nigeria for greatness. We have left the era of fuel queues, bailouts and endless borrowing to pay salaries. The future is bright and with Tinubu as driver, Nigeria will surely arrive at the right destination,” Ebie concluded.
