In times and seasons when the good in humanity is almost non-existent, it is impetrative for such rare, good deeds to be applauded publicly. A deep sense of gratitude and admiration trails the remarkable leadership being showcased, particularly the most recent action undertaken, in the compassionate decision to facilitate the recruitment of orphans into the Department of State Services. This singular act is a rare feat, a definition of state building and it speaks volumes about the depth of humanity and an unwavering belief that every Nigerian, regardless of circumstance or background, deserves an opportunity to serve, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to our nation. In an era where leadership is often measured by policies and pronouncements, decisive actions remind us that the greatest leaders are those who never lose sight of the human element. Tosin showcases sterling qualities that even detractors can’t help but admit the following: empathy for the needy, kindness to everyone he encounters, and an unwavering commitment to lifting others have become defining attributes of his leadership, earning him the respect and admiration of many whose lives he has touched, years back through his thriving career in the service and often without fanfare or expectation of recognition. What makes this leadership even more remarkable is the accessible structure that has been built around himself. Despite the weighty responsibilities of the office of the DG DSS, countless people continue to experience his personal touch, his willingness to listen, and his genuine concern for their welfare. Excellence, humility, compassion, and integrity are not merely ideals he espouses—they are values he consistently demonstrate in his daily interactions. The recent recruitment of orphans into the DSS is more than an administrative exercise; it is a powerful statement of hope and inclusion. It demonstrates that leadership can be both firm and compassionate, and that institutions become stronger when they embrace those who have overcome adversity. Through this initiative, Tosin have not only opened doors of opportunity but have also restored dignity, inspired confidence, and rekindled hope in the lives of many deserving young Nigerians. As Nigerians continue to witness this seasoned spy chief’s impactful leadership, it becomes increasingly evident that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made an excellent choice in appointing him as the Director-General of the Department of State Services. His tenure continues to reflect a rare blend of professionalism, strategic vision, EMPATHY, and unwavering commitment to national service, with his leadership exemplifying the qualities required to strengthen institutions while preserving the values of justice, fairness, and humanity. It is only expedient for this noble, yet far reaching action taken by the DG DSS to be publicly appreciated, in other to encourage other public officers in places of authority to embrace concepts, ideas and actions that would not only impact positively on the downtrodden and almost forgotten in today’s Nigeria but also learn to see the inevitable impact an act of EMPATHY can make.
