…..Urges creatives to support Renewed Hope Agenda and President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election
Hon. Rowland Odih, former Director-General of Atiku Youth Wing and now Director-General of The Bridge for Renewed Hope, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for directing an investigation into the alleged exploitation of Nigerian media and creative content by global digital technology companies.
Hon. Rowland described the move by President Tinubu as a bold demonstration of his commitment to protecting the intellectual property and economic interests of Nigerian creatives.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by the media office of The Bridge for Renewed Hope, Hon. Rowland said the President’s intervention has rekindled hope among media professionals, content creators, publishers, entertainers, and other stakeholders in Nigeria’s creative industry.
According to him, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again demonstrated visionary leadership by taking decisive steps to safeguard the rights and livelihoods of Nigerian creatives. In today’s digital economy, intellectual property is a valuable asset that deserves protection, and this intervention sends a strong message that Nigeria will stand up for its creators.”
He added, “Our creative industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the Nigerian economy and one of the booming exports to Africa and the world. Ensuring that creators in Nigeria receive fair value for their hardwork and originality will encourage innovation, create more jobs, and strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.”
Hon. Rowland urged Nigerian creatives, journalists, filmmakers, musicians, publishers, writers, digital entrepreneurs, and content creators to continue supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
“I call on all creatives and content creators across Nigeria to continue partnering with the Renewed Hope Agenda of PresidentBolaAhmedTinubu. The administration has shown that it recognizes the immense contributions of the creative sector to national development and is willing to defend its interests. This is the kind of leadership that deserves our collective support,” he stated.
Hon. Rowland further called on stakeholders in the creative ecosystem to rally behind President Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.
“As we look ahead to 2027, I encourage every stakeholder in the creative industry to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu so that the ongoing reforms and policies aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s creative economy can be sustained for the benefit of present and future generations,” he said.
He expressed optimism that the ongoing investigation as ordered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would promote fairness, accountability, and a more balanced relationship between global technology companies and Nigerian content creators, ultimately contributing to the long-term growth and global competitiveness of Nigeria’s creative sector.
