As reported by The Sun on Sunday, July 5, 2026, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, who leads the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has given further insights into what the outcome of the 2027 Presidential election will be.
He said that the northern area of the country will have a crucial impact on the final result of the 2027 presidential race between Tinubu and Atiku.
He remarked that the political stance in the North would greatly influence which candidate achieves electoral success.
He elaborated that Labour Party’s former Presidential candidate, Peter Obi will struggle to gain significant electoral backing in the North, while President Bola Tinubu will similarly encounter strong opposition in the North.
He claimed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will receive relatively stronger support in the North, aided by traditional rulers, elder statesmen, and some international figures.
Primate Ayodele also indicated that the Arewa Consultative Forum will see splits due to Tinubu’s political maneuvers in the northern area.
He mentioned that the group’s position will not remain cohesive as political ambitions start to diverge before the elections.
He predicted that Atiku Abubakar will obtain at least 25 percent of the votes in both the South-West and South-East geopolitical regions, while President Tinubu will also achieve a similar vote share (25%) in those areas (South-West and South-East). He further said that Peter Obi will not get up to 25% in FCT.
He further pointed out that Tinubu will escalate his political campaigning and strategic messaging initiatives to bolster his authority across the northern States.
He commented, “The Arewa Consultative Forum will find itself divided due to Tinubu’s involvement. Atiku will secure a minimum of 25 percent of the votes in the regions of South-West and South-East, while Tinubu will also attain approximately 25 percent there (South-West and South-East). Tinubu will ramp up his campaign efforts and propaganda to enhance his standing in the North,” Primate Ayodele further said.
