As Ofu residents await 600 (KW) Mini Grid Power Project Courtesy of Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, they have showered praise on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the kind gesture in advance.
“Ofu residents continue the countdown to the awaited 600 (kw) mini grid power Project which will soon be commissioned”, according to Mr Apeh Ameh, a resident of the community.
According to Mr Apeh Ameh, resident of Oji- Ofa who on Monday expressed joy over the project and said that if other locations of the Mini Grid project are completed, “it will address employment opportunities as well as the security challenges faced by rural areas around.”
“All arrangements are in top gear for the commissioning Of 600 kw Mini Grid power project in Oji-Ofa, Ofu LGA,” Mr Ameh further added.
Another resident and a market woman, Hajia Fati Yahaya extends appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, for the commendable initiative in illuminating Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State. She also appreciated the Hon. Minister for putting the good people of Ofu in mind as the project which will benefit many communities around.
“The first phase of the project was carried out at Egume in Dekina LGA, later in Olamaboro, Omala, Ankpa and now, Ofu will soon witness its own turn. The 9 Local Government Areas of Kogi East will benefit from this project targeting over 48 communities directly. This project will improve economic activities in Kogi East and boost Small Scale Businesses in the Area.
“The introduction of the Mini Grid lighting is a transformative step that carries multifaceted benefits. The market women, youths, and families of our communities are deeply grateful, as this initiative will enhance their day to day activities and promote economic activities even after sundown. In the current climate of insecurity, these lights will act as a deterrent to crime, providing a semblance of safety and comfort for all
“This significant milestone will be achieved in many communities in Kogi State as Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, The Minister Of Steel Development, in collaboration with Alhaji Abba Abubakar Aliyu, the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has commissioned so many of the projects in Kogi East in partnership with the World Bank.
“We appreciate Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for appointing the son of the soil Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu as a Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria which has attracted more dividends of democracy to Kogi State and this signifies more than an acknowledgment; it stands as a call to action for continued support in human capital development. And this numerous developments in Kogi State will attract massive votes for Mr President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, come 2027,” Mr Apeh Ameh further said.
