*As PAP trains 120 stakeholders on peace building
The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Chief (Dr.)Dennis Brutu Otuaro, has declared the Niger Delta Region as Nigeria’s most peaceful region under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Otuaro spoke at a two-day peace building workshop: Leadership, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation Training, organised for the sixth batch of PAP stakeholders at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, between Monday and Tuesday.
At the training programme, Otuaro lauded PAP’s peacebuilding policy for the crude oil and hydrocarbon-rich region for its positive results that has deepen peace and stability, making Niger Delta the most peaceful of Nigeria’s six regions under President Tinubu’s supportive Renewed Hope Agenda and excellent supervision of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
This batch had 120 participants following five earlier batches with over 240 beneficiaries between July and December, 2025.
Under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, PAP has deployed about 8,500 scholarship students to universities in Nigeria and about 247 students of critical post-graduate studies overseas.
Otuaro said, “We want to say it unapologetically that the Niger Delta is the most peaceful region in Nigeria. There is no apology for this fact.
“Our peace building process in the region is working under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the support of the Office of the National Security Adviser.
“We are eternally grateful to President Tinubu and the Office of the National Security Adviser for their strong backing for the Presidential Amnesty Programme. We know that President Tinubu believes in us, and there is no request we will make for our region that he will not grant.
“Come 2027, we will give 100 percent support to President Tinubu because we believe that he will do more for the region in his second term.”
He thanked all stakeholders and participants for their commitment to sustainable peace and stability in the region, urging them to utilise their knowledge to achieve the workshop objectives.
Dr. Otuaro further thanked the workshop facilitators, the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, for their collaboration and support.
